ElderActive Fine Arts Program
Doug returns to teach another watercolour workshop! This time, learn how to create a watercolour of the glorious snowy mountains that surround us! Exercise your creative skills and practice watercolour techniques with Artist Doug Rutherford.
Doug Rutherford bio:
Doug Rutherford (he/him) is a self-taught visual artist, concentrating on watercolour landscapes of the vistas of the Yukon, northern BC, and Alaska. He is of settler descent.
In keeping with the Robert Service question, “There's the land. (Have you seen it?)” he tries to make available the breathtaking scenery of this wonderful region in small format paintings.
In this workshop, participants will make a nature inspired watercolour painting. No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided.

K.S.A. Season Opener Member Social
Join K.S.A. at the Yukon Transportation Museum on October 23rd for a fun and casual snowmobiler social gathering. Enjoy some snacks, meet some snowmobiling friends, share some ideas and get excited for the upcoming snowmobile season! This is a great chance for new snowmobilers to come meet some riding buddies and learn more about snowmobiling in the Yukon, and for experienced snowmobilers to come see some friends and share some ideas for the upcoming season.
Anyone with an interest in snowmobiling is invited! New snowmobilers, experienced snowmobilers, members and non members are all welcome! Snacks and beverages will be available, and be sure to join them in the hangar for a special presentation of the freshly updated snow grooming exhibit. Klondike Snowmobile Association board will also be on site to meet and chat, and 2025/2026 membership registration forms will be available.

The Mount Sima SKI SWAP is happening October 18th! Bring your gear, clothing, and accessories. You can pick up your season passes or purchase one, and if you do, you can enter into a draw to win a sweet prize. Tables will be provided by Mount Sima so don't you worry about that.

CSG NextGen Development Clinic
This free clinic will be led by the coaches, with support from athletes who represented Yukon at this summer’s Canada Summer Games in St. John’s. They’ll share their experiences of competing at a multi-sport Games and inspire the next generation of players interested in exploring what it’s like to participate in Canada Games, or other multi-sport events.
The session will be development-focused, highlighting the skills, habits, and training approaches that will help players prepare for future Games opportunities.

Aboriginal Coaching Module (ACM) Workshop
The Aboriginal Coaching Module (ACM) Workshop is a vital professional development tool for coaches of all levels, whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, who work with Aboriginal athletes.
Offered through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), this workshop explores Indigenous cultures, values, and lifestyles, providing coaches with the tools to create inclusive environments for their athletes.

A trial system must be used to choose Team Yukon participants that will attend the Arctic Winter Games. These trials can be held anytime between October 3, 2025 to January 18, 2026. The Badminton trials are being held on October 4-5, 2025.

Ski Patrol Information Session
The Yukon Zone of the Canadian Ski Patrol is hosting an information session on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, September 17 at 6:00pm. It is open to anybody interested in volunteering with the ski patrol this year. This is a session for people interested in learning more about the Yukon Zone of the Canadian Ski Patrol. It will describe who the patrol is, what the minimum requirements are to join, the commitments, and the benefits.

YCKC 2025 Whitewater Rodeo
This annual event showcases the talents of Whitewater Paddlers in the Yukon. With multiple events over a variety of disciplines, there are participation opportunities for all skill levels. With a BBQ and beer garden, this a great time to catch up after a busy paddling summer. Registration starts at 11:00AM at the YCKC Bins (25 Selkirk St), with beginner/intermediate events starting at 12:00PM and their main events kicking off at 3:15pm. There will be a short break midway through the day to warm up and grab some snacks, our BBQ and Beer Garden at the YCKC Bins will open up after the final event (around 6pm).

Tatshenshini River Weekend
A weekend of paddling the classic Blanchard/Tatshenshini day run. 24kms of great class III, with 3 bigger rapids. Not comfortable paddling the whole river by yourself, they will also have raft support accompanying the group. Shuttle provided by Tatshenshini Expediting.
