Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series Yukon Race
Hosted by Athletics Yukon with key sponsors Dion Snowshoes, Spafford Health and Adventure and sanctioned by Snowshoe Canada. No experience required! Come out and race and/or just have fun! There will be category prize winners along with draw prizes. Hot chocolate and treats at the end of the race. This is part of a series of snowshoe races that are happening across the country.
Location: Mt. Mac Snowshoe Trails - meet at the upper parking lot behind / beside the Tennis Courts
Distance: 6 kms approx.
Start time: 4:00 pm *please arrive at least 20 minutes early if you are borrowing snowshoes and need to get them set up.
Cost: $10 AY members / $25 non-members
A limited number of Dion running snowshoes are available for participants that need them. Please contact Ben Yu Schott @ 335-0441 to secure snowshoes, otherwise please bring your own.

Chasing the Light Sprint
Join Whitehorse Nordic Centre for the first race of the newly created BOREAL CUP Series! Compete in a fun and friendly environment and earn some points at each event until the Pierre Harvey Cup on March 28, 2026. Chasing the Light is a sprint race on a ladder format. Sprints are short, fun, and happen on a small loop, so you can be encouraged all the way. Join them afterwards for pizza and drinks in the WNC Chalet! This event is also a training event for our Arctic Winter Games Officials.

WARMUP AND WAX TESTING is available at the chalet - there will be a limited time at the start line. Wax It To Win It, Icycle Sports and Coast Mountain Sports offer waxing services.

RBC Training Ground - Whitehorse
RBC Training Ground returns to the Yukon for the first time since 2019!
RBC, the Canadian Olympic Committee, and Canadian Olympic Foundation partnered in 2016 to launch RBC Training Ground – a series of regional qualifying events designed to help find and fund athletes with Olympic potential.
At RBC Training Ground, athletes between the ages of 14 and 25 test their speed, strength, power, and endurance in front of National Sport Organization talent scouts and the Canadian Olympic Paralympic Sport Institute Network.
Results are then compared against high-performance benchmarks, and (up to) 35 athletes are selected to receive funding and support needed to pursue their Olympic dreams.

Raven 50 Mile Ultra & Relay
The 2026 Raven 50 Mile Ultra & Relay will be held on July 4, 2026.
With beautiful single track trails and quad roads, 3 ridges, 2 peaks, more than 3000m of elevation gain, water crossings and fun switchbacks, you’ll be sure to experience the unique landscapes that shape the Yukon.
With a start close to downtown Whitehorse, complete facilities at the start and finish, 7 aid stations and checkpoints and delicious catered food, you don’t want to miss the ultra!

Tennis Northern Cup
Mark Your Calendar (and sign up now!) because the Northern Cup is coming back to Whitehorse for another year of fun, friendly competition. For just $50, you can sign up for as many categories as you'd like, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles for both men and women, and your entry includes dinner!
All individuals from the Yukon, NWT, and Alaska will compete against each other. Game scores count toward a running total for your territory/state, and the leading team takes home the cup. Plus, every participant is guaranteed two scheduled matches.

Yukon River Trail Marathon
The Yukon River Trail Marathon has been running strong for over 25 years! Join them for the 2026 race on August 2, 2026 in beautiful Whitehorse, Yukon. The course starts on the Millennium Trail, then travels on single-track to Kwanlin (Miles Canyon) and Canyon City, continues on the Yukon River trail towards Chadburn Lake, follows the beautiful trails along Chadden Lake, Schwatka Lake, and Hidden Lakes to end up near the Whitehorse dam where runners return to the Millennium Trail, and run next to the Yukon river to the finish area.

43rd Klondike Road Relay
The 43rd running of the Klondike Road Relay is coming on September 11-12, 2026.
Join hundreds of teams and thousands of racers as they take on the most epic, fun, an challenging 175km relay from Skagway, Alaska to Whitehorse, Yukon - following the trail of the old White Pass. And come down to the NorthwesTel Finish Line and our iconic Party in the Park!

The Don Sumanik Weekend is two-day event consisting of an Interval Start Classic Technique Race on Saturday January 10th and a fun Team Sprint, Free Technique, on Sunday January 11th.

Distances: 1.25 to 10km

Format: Team Sprint - 2 skiers; 3 laps each, alternating each lap

5+ Hours of Light Bike Festival
The 5+ Hours of Light is back for 2025. Ride for a little or ride for a lot, but always be riding with a smile. Or just bring some food and come volunteer.

Celebrate Winter Solstice with Athletics Yukon! Please wear your most festive gear. Run or walk up to the towers on Grey Mountain Road approx. 12 km return (Or however far you feel like going)

All WMHA U11-U18 Goalies are invited to register for their GOALIE WEEKEND. This will be an intense on ice experience featuring three guest coaches who will be led by their goalie development partner Colin Cooper. This opportunity is for House League AND Mustangs/Wild Goalies alike.

The annual Yukon Cross Country Championships is one of Athletics Yukon’s most popular events!

The GreySTOKE Mountain Bike Challenge
Welcome one and all to the 2025 GreySTOKE Mountain Bike Challenge. Prepare your mind and steel your resolve for a classic cross-country leg ripper on the evergreen trails of Grey Mountain. Participants will pedal, grunt, and grind on one of 3 courses. Interested in a fast-paced done in an hour-ish race ending in a BBQ? Then register for the Yukon XC Mountain Bike Championships!
All courses will start and finish in the upper Magnusson Parking lot (near the Biathlon range) at the top of Yellow Brick Road. Detailed course descriptions below.

Chocolate Claim 10 Miler
Preparing for the Klondike Road Relay? This 10 miler is the perfect training run! Same great route Starting and Finishing at Rotary Park – out the Millennium Trail, South Access to Schwatka Lake Road, through Miles Canyon, back on Chadburn Lake Road to Nistutlin Road, to Alsek Road to Lewes Blvd, and back to Rotary Park
As in past years, this run will not have an aid station and runners must be self supported. The course will be flagged and a gps link will be shared prior to race day; runners are also responsible for knowing the route.
Location: Starts and finishes at the Rotary Park picnic shelter.
Date: Saturday, August 24th. Sign in at 9:45am; race starts at 10:00am

Wolf Creek Salmon Hike
Attention Salmon Lovers! Join Yukon Fish & Game Association for a Guided Hike at Wolf Creek! They are excited to host a family-friendly interpretive hike at Wolf Creek, all about the amazing story of Yukon Salmon!
Learn about the salmon’s life cycle, their importance to the Yukon ecosystem, and the history of their journey through Wolf Creek. This is a great chance to get outside, explore Wolf Creek, and discover more about one of the Yukon’s most iconic species.
