Jamboree #2
Jamboree #2: Wednesday, February 25, 2026
WGB is announcing our second Jamboree of the season! Declarations are open, please make sure to declare your swimmer by the 22nd of February; while Job Sign up will open on the 10th of February at noon.
The WGB Jamboree is a fun, low-pressure introduction to swim meets for our youngest athletes (in the pre-competitive roster group). This event is designed to help swimmers feel confident and excited about racing, with all the essentials of a real meet: a starter, timers, and a supportive environment from start to finish.
Athletes will enjoy a mix of official-style races and playful, non-sanctioned events. There will be 🎁 goody bags & amazing food generously provided by La Cara for athletes to grab and go after the event is concluded:

RBC Training Ground - Whitehorse
RBC Training Ground returns to the Yukon for the first time since 2019!
RBC, the Canadian Olympic Committee, and Canadian Olympic Foundation partnered in 2016 to launch RBC Training Ground – a series of regional qualifying events designed to help find and fund athletes with Olympic potential.
At RBC Training Ground, athletes between the ages of 14 and 25 test their speed, strength, power, and endurance in front of National Sport Organization talent scouts and the Canadian Olympic Paralympic Sport Institute Network.
Results are then compared against high-performance benchmarks, and (up to) 35 athletes are selected to receive funding and support needed to pursue their Olympic dreams.

Tennis Northern Cup
Mark Your Calendar (and sign up now!) because the Northern Cup is coming back to Whitehorse for another year of fun, friendly competition. For just $50, you can sign up for as many categories as you'd like, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles for both men and women, and your entry includes dinner!

Yukon River Trail Marathon
The Yukon River Trail Marathon has been running strong for over 25 years! Join them for the 2026 race on August 2, 2026 in beautiful Whitehorse, Yukon. The course starts on the Millennium Trail, then travels on single-track to Kwanlin (Miles Canyon) and Canyon City, continues on the Yukon River trail towards Chadburn Lake, follows the beautiful trails along Chadden Lake, Schwatka Lake, and Hidden Lakes to end up near the Whitehorse dam where runners return to the Millennium Trail, and run next to the Yukon river to the finish area.

Yukon Championships
Climb Yukon is excited to announce that they will be hosting their first national-level bouldering competition on February 21! The event will feature team athletes as well as an open category accessible to all climbers. The finals will be open to the public, with food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere.
They are also thrilled to welcome Alannah Yip, Olympic climber and Team Canada athlete, who will be involved in setting the competition boulders and will give a special talk at 4:30 p.m., just before the finals. Whether you’re competing in the Open category or attending as a spectator, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

Chasing the Light Sprint
Join Whitehorse Nordic Centre for the first race of the newly created BOREAL CUP Series! Compete in a fun and friendly environment and earn some points at each event until the Pierre Harvey Cup on March 28, 2026. Chasing the Light is a sprint race on a ladder format. Sprints are short, fun, and happen on a small loop, so you can be encouraged all the way. Join them afterwards for pizza and drinks in the WNC Chalet! Sport Yukon’s Volunteer Program, supported by Lotteries Yukon, is pleased to offer the following training opportunity, free of charge:
What: 1-day Standard First Aid + CPR-C in-person course
When: Saturday, February 14, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Where: Yukon University, Room T1030
Cost: Free!
Update and recertify your Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification in this 7.5 hour course. You can recertify your SFA/CPR-C certification any time with in the 3-year certification period. After your certification expires you are no longer able to register for a recertification course, and must take the full 2 day course again.
Prerequisite: current Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification. Must show proof of current certification to register.

This training is for anyone interested in an introduction to the new timing system, anyone interested in volunteering at a race checkpoint, and anyone interested in becoming more involved as a race timer. Come and get some hands-on training on this state-of-the-art electronic timing system!

Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series Yukon Race
Hosted by Athletics Yukon with key sponsors Dion Snowshoes, Spafford Health and Adventure and sanctioned by Snowshoe Canada. No experience required! Come out and race and/or just have fun! There will be category prize winners along with draw prizes. Hot chocolate and treats at the end of the race. This is part of a series of snowshoe races that are happening across the country.
Location: Mt. Mac Snowshoe Trails - meet at the upper parking lot behind / beside the Tennis Courts
Distance: 6 kms approx.
Start time: 4:00 pm *please arrive at least 20 minutes early if you are borrowing snowshoes and need to get them set up.

2026 AWG Snowboard Trials
Get ready for the 2026 AWG Trials Snowboard Camp! Train, compete, and earn your chance to represent the Yukon at the 2026 Arctic Winter Games. The trials will consist of 2 events; an individual timed race on the snowboard cross course and slopestyle in the Pokey Park. You must participate in both events to be eligible to be named to the team. The Final Roster will be published within one week of the trials event.

Girlstylerz Camp
Freestyle Yukon is hosting our first-ever Girlstylerz Camp at Mt. Sima — and you’re invited! If you’ve ever wanted to try freestyle skiing, this is the weekend to do it. Learn new tricks, gain confidence, and have a ton of fun with certified coaches cheering you on every step of the way.

11:30 – Ski Skills
1:30 – Intro to the Park
4:30 – Trampoline Time
6:00 – Pizza + Ski Movie
Sunday
11:00 – Meet at Mt. Sima
11:30 – Park Progression
Valid Freestyle Yukon or Try-It Membership is required for participation.
Participants are required to hold a valid Freestyle Yukon or Try-It membership. Participants are also responsible to purchase their own lift pass and have/rent their equipment. This is an introductory event to Freestyle Skiing; participants are required to be able to ski parallel and be in control on blue terrain.

Team Yukon Biathlon-Snowshoe Trial
A trial system must be used to choose Team Yukon participants that will attend the Arctic Winter Games. These trials can be held anytime between October 3, 2025 to January 18, 2026. The Biathlon-Snowshoe trials are being held on December 13-14, 2025.
